The Power of Now

Step out of compulsive thinking and into the present moment
The Power of Now

by Eckhart Tolle

The Power of Now felt like my first spiritual initiation—though I didn’t know it at the time. I first read it at sixteen, and I’ve kept returning to it ever since. Everything I’ve come to believe about mindfulness, psychology, spirituality, and even creativity seems to live in its pages. Yet Eckhart Tolle expresses these truths with a simplicity that cuts through complexity.

I like to imagine he might even agree with the worldview I’ve tried to synthesize visually on this site. He reminds us that we already live in two dimensions: as form, and as being. But when we bring awareness to the still space of pure being, we uncover what I call the Just-Right way of living.

I dream of creating children’s books that gently introduce ideas like these—alongside others from Tolle’s teachings, such as the pain body. I want to find a playful, effective way to help kids see that they are not their emotions—and that they can ride out a temper tantrum like a wave. Wish me luck!
